Popularization of Citizens' Manifesto in Nebbi district started on 8th Dec , 2010 in the sub-counties of Wadelai and Jonam . A total of 52 (20F &32M) participants attended .These included government officials like the GISO, Sub county Supervisor, LC III chair person, and the sub county chief, OC in charge of the Sub County CDO. Also in attendance were representatives from Local CBO (Community Based Organisations)like Good Samaritan, Opinion leader and an elder.
All the nominated DL councilor V and the LC III nominated candidates all attended this meeting
All the candidates agreed that the issues in the CM are real and need close attention on how to address them and have a responsibility addressing the issues raised.
How ever the candidates expressed fear about the 15% budget allocation for agriculture as specified in the CM yet at National level its not the case.
All the nominated candidates for the various positions agreed to put their commitment to fulfilling the citizens' manifesto. Popularization of the Manifesto continues today( 9th Dec, 2010) , all facilitated by CEFORD staff.
