Good Hope foundation, a member of RWECO under CEW-IT on 15th/ 02/ 2011 finalised an intensive training for two hundred thirty Poll watchers from the constituencies of Bukonzo East and Busongora North-Kasese District. These were held in Kagando Hospital Hall on 14th/ 02/ 2011 and 15th/ 02/ 2011 at Rugendabara YMCA respectively.
The trainings were aimed at equipping the poll watchers with the necessary skills and Knowledge in election observation.
Topics like; Electoral laws, Code of conduct for poll watchers, Personal security and reporting methods were handled. Group work as a means of participatory method of learning was used where each group handled a case study and through these groups, The participants manifested a lot of skills and knowledge already acquired.
The trained poll watchers are now ready to watch and report on the polling exercise due to start on 18th/ 02/ 2011 and at least all polling stations will be watched.
